Simon Joyner with Michael Krassner
Simon Joyner is a world-renowned American singer-songwriter from Omaha, Nebraska who has released albums on independent labels since the early 90’s. He is widely regarded as one of the great songwriters of our generation. Gillian Welch calls him her favorite poet and Kevin Morby and Conor Oberst both claim him as a major influence. Despite being a songwriter’s songwriter, Joyner has flown mostly under the radar for thirty years, an underground artist who tours infrequently but has over 50 releases to his name, including 19 albums.
Michael Krassner is the leader of the long running instrumental collective, The Boxhead Ensemble. Upcoming albums include duo recordings with John Dieterich (Deerhoof) and Mick Turner (The Dirty Three). In addition to his own projects, he is a frequent collaborator and producer for Simon Joyner.
