BRYDE
Bryde (Sarah Howells) wields electric guitar to craft fiercely honest indie rock, oscillating between fragile and uncompromising. Her psychologically charged songwriting, compared to Stevie Nicks, The Cranberries, Jeff Buckley, and Lucy Dacus, explores entangling and unravelling with defiant, life-affirming quality.
Working with producers Jolyon Thomas and Bill Ryder-Jones, she earned BBC Radio 1, 6music, and Wales playlist support. Across three albums, she opened for Rufus Wainwright, played Green Man/Latitude, sold out London shows, and toured US/Europe.
Debut Like an Island (mixed by Catherine Marks) and third LP Still (2021, Welsh Music Prize nominee) preceded covers and Change Your Mind EP. Critics praise her “feral guitar” (Sunday Times), “voice that deserves attention” (Consequence), and “distinct” songwriting (Pitchfork).
